Montana

Big skies, towering mountains, and adventures above and below ground

Montana is a state where the landscapes seem to operate on an entirely different scale. Towering Rocky Mountain peaks, wide-open valleys, winding roads, and seemingly endless skies make simply driving through the state part of the experience. Whether you're exploring a national park, discovering Montana's mining history, or getting up close with some particularly adorable local residents, there's no shortage of memorable ways to experience Big Sky Country.

Glacier National Park is unquestionably one of Montana's greatest natural treasures, with Going-to-the-Sun Road providing an unforgettable journey through mountains, valleys, waterfalls, and alpine scenery. But some of our favorite Montana experiences also came from exploring beyond the national park, where the state's history and personality really started to shine.

Head underground in Butte to learn about the mining industry that helped shape Montana, or trade the mountains for something considerably fluffier with an interactive alpaca experience. Our time in Montana gave us an incredible combination of scenery, history, and completely unique adventures — from crossing the Continental Divide to walking an alpaca with a very strong personality.
