👥 Expect Crowds

🪑 Find a Seat & Stay Awhile

Despite the crowds, we were able to find seating and settle in with our flight while taking in everything happening around us.

Our Experience - Starbucks Reserve Roastery New York

The Starbucks Reserve Roastery takes the familiar Starbucks experience and turns just about everything up several notches. This isn't simply somewhere to grab a latte on your way through Manhattan. The enormous space is dedicated to exploring coffee, with specialty drinks, unusual beans, demonstrations, and plenty happening throughout the Roastery.

We opted for a coffee flight and absolutely loved it. Sampling several coffees side by side was a great way to appreciate the differences between them and try beans we probably wouldn't have ordered individually. If you're someone who genuinely enjoys coffee rather than simply needing caffeine to function, a flight is an especially fun way to experience the Roastery.

Now for the warning: this place can be BUSY. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and the entire Roastery was buzzing with people—which, if you've read many of our other recommendations, is pretty much the opposite of our preferred relaxing travel environment. Despite the crowds, we managed to find seating, and once we settled in with our coffee, we had a great time watching the demonstrations and exploring the space.

We personally enjoyed the former Seattle Reserve Roastery even more and were incredibly disappointed to see that location close shortly after our visit. Still, the New York Roastery is a coffee lover's paradise and a fun Manhattan experience, particularly if you're interested in exploring coffee beyond the usual menu at your local Starbucks.
