What to Expect
☕ Seriously Good Coffee
The coffee is the reason to visit, with distinctive beans and drinks that made 787 Coffee one of our favorite coffee stops in New York.
🥃 Whiskey Barrel-Aged Beans
Don't overlook the whiskey barrel-aged coffee—one of the most interesting and delicious coffees we tried during our visit.
🇵🇷 Puerto Rican Coffee
787 Coffee celebrates Puerto Rican coffee, bringing beans grown on the island directly into its distinctive café experience.
😊 Wonderful Baristas
The baristas were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making an already great cup of coffee even more enjoyable.
🛋️ Cute & Cozy
The intimate café offers a welcome place to settle in and take a break from the constant energy outside.
💰 Prepare Your Wallet
It's definitely pricey—even by our coffee-loving standards—but the quality and unique offerings made it worth trying.
787 Coffee
787 Coffee gave us almost the exact opposite experience from the enormous, bustling Starbucks Reserve Roastery. This was cute, cozy, welcoming, and a wonderful place to step away from the hustle and bustle of New York for a little while. Even better, the coffee was genuinely fantastic.
The standout for us was the whiskey barrel-aged coffee. Aging the beans in whiskey barrels gives the coffee a wonderfully distinctive character without turning your morning coffee into a cocktail, and it was easily one of the more memorable coffees we've tried. The baristas were also incredibly friendly and welcoming, which added tremendously to the experience.
We do have to mention the price. This was expensive coffee—and we've bought coffee in Iceland. That should tell you something. Still, between the quality of the beans, the unusual whiskey barrel-aged options, the welcoming service, and the cozy atmosphere, we thoroughly enjoyed our stop. If you're serious about coffee and looking for something more distinctive than another standard café, 787 Coffee is well worth checking out.
