Our Experience - Roe & Coe Distillery Flavours Experience

The Roe & Co Flavours Experience was one of the more interactive distillery experiences we've done, combining a traditional distillery tour with a hands-on cocktail-making class. Instead of simply learning about whiskey and tasting it at the end, the experience puts what you've learned to work.

We started with the history of Roe & Co and its connection to Dublin's whiskey heritage. Despite sharing its name with the historic George Roe & Co distillery, today's Roe & Co is a modern distillery rather than the original operation. From there, we walked through the production facility and learned how their Irish whiskey is made.

Then things got considerably more hands-on. We moved into a classroom-style bar where we tasted the whiskey and sampled different ingredients and flavors. The idea was to figure out what appealed to our individual tastes before using those preferences to design our own cocktails.

Each station came equipped with an apron and cocktail-making equipment, along with house-made syrups and ingredients for experimenting. With some guidance from the Roe & Co team, we were able to turn our flavor choices into personalized whiskey cocktails and make them ourselves.

After finishing our creations, we headed to the distillery bar for one more whiskey cocktail made in house. We loved how much participation was built into the experience — you still get the history, whiskey production, and tasting you'd expect from a distillery tour, but the cocktail workshop makes the Flavours Experience feel completely different from a standard tour.
