Our Experience - Sicily Pizza

Some of our favorite meals while traveling aren't the ones we planned weeks in advance — they're the little neighborhood places we stumble across along the way. Sicily Pizza was exactly that kind of find. This small, family-run restaurant gave us one of the simplest, most affordable, and most memorable meals of our time in Palermo.

The pizzas were enormous — roughly 12 inches — freshly made, delicious, and somehow only around €7 each. Add a glass of house wine for €2.50, and we found ourselves wondering how a meal this good could possibly cost so little. Even better was the family atmosphere, with multiple generations involved and Nonna helping keep the operation moving. It felt less like discovering another restaurant aimed at visitors and more like being welcomed into a neighborhood pizza place that simply happened to serve some seriously good food.

If you're staying near Palermo Airport rather than in the city center, Sicily Pizza is an especially great option for dinner. With its relaxed atmosphere, generous portions, incredibly reasonable prices, and location outside the tourist center, it's exactly the kind of neighborhood restaurant we'd happily return to.

Sicily Pizza wasn't an elaborate dining experience, and that's exactly why we loved it. Great pizza, inexpensive wine, a warm family-run atmosphere, and absolutely no need to overcomplicate things. Palermo gave us plenty of impressive culinary experiences, but sometimes all you really need is a giant €7 pizza, a €2.50 glass of wine, and Nonna nearby to remind you that you've made an excellent life decision.
