Our Experience - Villa Rosa Dei Venti
Villa Rosa dei Venti was one of those accommodations where the hospitality made just as much of an impression as the property itself. From the moment we arrived, everyone could not have been more friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Our room was comfortable and clean with its own balcony — and we happened to hit the jackpot with an incredible view overlooking the airport runway. As aviation fans, we'll happily take that upgrade in scenery any day!
The property also offers a continental breakfast and a refreshing outdoor pool, which was especially welcome after spending a hot day exploring Palermo. Although Villa Rosa dei Venti sits outside the city center near Palermo Airport, we found getting downtown surprisingly easy. We were able to walk to Orsa train station and connect directly toward Palermo — just be sure to check the schedule, as Orsa was not serviced on Sundays during our visit.
The real winner, however, was Villa Rosa dei Venti's complimentary airport shuttle. They picked us up late at night when we first arrived, brought us back to the airport the following Sunday morning so we could catch a train when Orsa wasn't being serviced, and then somehow managed to be just as accommodating when it was time to leave. With an extremely early departing flight, they had us back at the airport at approximately 3:30 in the morning.
What impressed us most were the little touches surrounding all of that. Both our Sunday morning departure and our extremely early flight fell outside the property's standard breakfast hours, yet they still offered us coffee and a warm croissant before taking us to the airport. It's a small gesture, but exactly the kind of hospitality you remember long after a trip ends. If you're looking for a comfortable place to stay near Palermo Airport with easy access to the city, a pool, exceptionally convenient airport transportation, and genuinely wonderful hosts, Villa Rosa dei Venti was an excellent find for us.
