Our Experience - Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center

Calling the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center simply a hotel almost feels unfair. This place is enormous, elaborate, and honestly an attraction in its own right. The resort contains nine acres of indoor glass atriums filled with lush botanical gardens, winding pathways, waterways, and cascading waterfalls. You could easily spend hours wandering around the property just exploring everything inside — and occasionally reminding yourself that, yes, you're still inside a hotel.

We absolutely loved exploring the different atriums and gardens during our stay. Around seemingly every corner there's another waterfall, bridge, garden, restaurant, or overlook to discover, and the sheer scale of the property is difficult to appreciate until you're actually walking through it. There are even indoor waterways and a riverboat ride through the Delta Atrium. This isn't the kind of hotel where you simply return to your room at the end of a day sightseeing in Nashville — exploring the resort can genuinely become part of the trip itself.

Our room was comfortable and overlooked one of the resort's interior atrium areas, which made the experience even more unique. Instead of looking out over a typical parking lot or city street, we could look down into the enormous interior space below. If you're staying here, an atrium-view room is definitely worth considering if it fits your budget.

The location also works especially well if the Grand Ole Opry is part of your Nashville plans. The Opry House is right next to the resort, making the two incredibly easy to pair together. You can spend part of the day exploring the Gaylord's gardens and waterfalls before heading over for an Opry performance without needing to cross the city.

And yes — the Gaylord Opryland is part of Marriott, which means Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and redeem points here. For us, that's a pretty great bonus at a hotel that already feels unlike almost anywhere else we've stayed. Between the gardens, waterfalls, enormous atriums, restaurants, comfortable accommodations, and proximity to the Grand Ole Opry, the Gaylord Opryland isn't merely somewhere to sleep while visiting Nashville. We'd consider exploring the hotel an experience all by itself.
