Our Experience - Centennial Park

Centennial Park might contain one of the strangest combinations of attractions in Nashville. Where else are you going to find a full-scale replica of the Parthenon and a Taylor Swift bench in the same park? Somehow, in Nashville, it works.

The Parthenon is unquestionably the centerpiece. Originally constructed for Tennessee's 1897 Centennial Exposition, Nashville's version is a full-scale replica of the ancient Greek landmark and is dramatically more impressive than you might expect. You can admire the columns and architecture from the surrounding park for free, or head inside to explore the art museum and see the enormous statue of Athena.

Then there's a completely different piece of Nashville culture hiding elsewhere in the park: the Taylor Swift bench. The bench was dedicated in connection with Swift's Nashville ties and makes for a fun little scavenger hunt and photo opportunity, particularly for fans. Between that, the Parthenon, Lake Watauga, walking paths, and open green space, Centennial Park is an easy place to spend some time away from the crowds and noise of downtown.

It's quirky, relaxing, and unmistakably Nashville. Come for ancient Greece, find the Taylor Swift bench, take a walk around the park, and then try to think of another city where that combination would make any sense at all.
